It's been a while

Hello again!

Thanksgiving was nice. Having Scott home for the week was even nicer. :)

I don't really have much to say that's not just complaining so I'll keep this short.

I finished most of my Christmas cards and now I just have to mail them. The soap project is coming along nicely. I didn't work on any pillow covers but have made part of PJ and Emmie's Christmas presents. And worked on the stuffie keepers some.

Okay, well unless you want to hear about more poop fiascos then I'm done.

Have a great morning!

Counter productive

I picked up the Christmas cards this morning. I got out the envelopes I already have, and the card looks lost in it. Now I have to add on to just the printed card to make it look like it belongs. (I know what you're thinking, why doesn't she just go out and buy more envelopes you ask... Well, because that would be too easy!!)

Now I have yet another project started. But I did get to work on the soaps and the stuffie keepers (formally called critter keepers, I changed the name). So, I've been productively counter-productive. Haha.

Hopefully I can get at least one project sorta done today. I'm still aiming for the soaps.

How can someone so little take up so much of the bed? And how is that comfortable?

Christmas cards are made... Just have to get them in and then send them out.  I think they came out really cute!  I'm glad I got some good photos of Cohen even if it did take me three plus attempts.

I have way too many projects going on right now.  I think tomorrow I will work on finishing at least one of them.  I have a boppy cover started and the pieces strewn everywhere, I have a bunch of "critter keepers" in various stages of done-ness scattered about, and I have my soap project here and there as well.  Phew!  I need to pick one and finish it!  I think I'll finish part of the soap one for sure.  It's gonna be my Christmas gift to people.  I'll post pictures soon.  I want to get the soap part of it done.  I'll still need to package it up, but at least if the soap part is done, I can pick up all the soap and soap making stuff.  And I may also work on the critter keepers.  I'm gonna wait on the pillow cover until Scott gets back home.

90 90 90!

Today is my grandma's 90th birthday celebration. We will be making the trek to the westbank later on. It's gonna be nice to see all of my dad's side of the family. Most of them haven't even met Cohen yet. I'm glad he's been feeling better.

Would you like to hear about my morning? No, not really? Well, too bad!

So Cohen and I get up and I get him dressed and let the dogs out as usual. I put him on the rug and get his toys out to play while I feed the pets. I go to feed lily and see that she pooped right outside her litterbox. I just scooped them out yesterday afternoon. So then I feed RoRo and penny. I go to get them water, and THERE IS POOP IN THE SINK! I clean it out, wash my hands, and go to dry them. But wait, the towel is wet. THERE'S PEE ON THE TOWEL. So I put it to wash and am fuming at Lily. I go shower and then scoop the litterboxes again and then take that trashbag outside. I come back in, and guess what? THERE'S POOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE KITCHEN!! So now I'm really furious. They are all 3 going in the bathroom. Well, I think I broke a toe while wrangling the beasts. The house stinks. I tried to get rid of them but the couple people I asked didn't want them. And Scott just wants me to wait a few days to calm down. I am so very sick of this. I don't want to get rid of the kitties, but I can't keep doing this. And even though Lily is the problem, we won't be getting rid of her.

So, how was your morning?

Oh, and I must add that they seem to do this crap (pun intended) when I'm here alone.

Today...

Has been great so far!  Cohen and I had lunch at Chic-Fil-A with Jenny and her little girl Emmy.  Then we all went to Hobby Lobby and meandered and chatted in there for a while.  Jenny was a good friend of mine in high school, but we had gone our separate ways until recently.  And, it's like there was never a time we weren't friends.  Not that we ever had a falling out or anything, life just took us in different directions and we didn't stay in touch for a while (well, since high school... 6+ years ago!!).

That's how you know it's a good friendship.  =)  I hope to spend more time with Jenny and Emmy.

And, I'll leave it at that.  Staying positive.  Have a wonderful day!!

MAJOR Disappointment

Well, the house is a no go as of now.

The zoning can possibly be changed but only if not even one neighbor protests, and it's a long process. 6 months at the very minimum.

Or, the land could be subdivided. But that is another whole fiasco.

It was too good to be true. But there's gotta be a reason for this. Hopefully someday I can look back and see this is for the best.

Photos!!!!

This is the one I'm going with I think.

This is how the other sessions went.

 Love these shoes!!

 Stink eye?

Smile Anyway, Right?

The house plans got kicked back from the permit place.  The property is zoned as a single family residence.  Rodney is going to fight it today.  It's ridiculous anyway seeing as Angela's house is on the property, AND we already live on the property too.  So, we'll see.  I'm bummed, I'm not gonna lie.

Well, it's hard to move on from those thoughts, but I'll try.  I *think* I may have actually gotten some cute shots of Cohen for Christmas.  I'll post once I edit.

Oh, and to add to the melancholy mood, Scott is leaving tomorrow for Dallas.  And won't be back till Monday at the soonest.

But, I'm trying to smile anyway.  And I do have things to smile about.  I'm meeting my friend Jenny and her little girl for lunch and a trip to Hobby Lobby tomorrow.  And I'm very excited about this.  And my grandma's 90th birthday party is Saturday, so that should be fun as well.  Not so much looking forward to the long car ride there and back though.

Okay, photos are ready to start being edited... hopefully I'll be back with some good shots.  :)

lights Lights LIGHTS

I've been looking at light fixtures for the house all day.  I think I'm going to be cross-eyed!!  X)

I made a comment at lunch today about wanting to go to the beach next summer, but that it'd probably be a short trip with all the house stuff.  And Tree said that hopefully it'll be DONE BY SUMMER! What?!  I'll be happy if we're in it by next Christmas (I don't wanna start expecting it to be done sooner and then be bummed when it isn't.)

I actually got a lot done today.  A few loads of laundry, bought a 5 x 7 rug for under $30 so Cohen can play in the living room, swept, mopped, rearranged a bit. And looked at lights. Lots and lots of lights.  And decided that I'll have to look at them in person to decide on anything.

This is the fan we like for the living room.  We (potentially) found it much cheaper though.  And these are the bath faucets we like.  Again, we got them cheaper.  Actually, all the faucets in the house will be that style.  And these will probably be our vanities.

Okay, this was all over the place.  Sorry about that.  =)

Christmas pictures...

I asked Scott earlier this week if he would help me get some photos of Cohen in his santa hat. Well I started taking photos today and asked Scott to help after I started so I guess I owe him a little bit of credit...

He just stood there and watched me for a minute, then started trying to get Cohen to smile. Then the hat fell off and he just stood there again till I asked him to put it back on. Then he pulled it far down on Cohen's head, thus aggravating him. And then about two minutes later scott collapsed on the blanket I was using as the background and said, " look, I'm posing" in his underwear.

And then my camera must have freaked out after the first couple of photos I took because they are all blown out. Ugh.

Next time I won't ask for help.

Faucets and Bathtubs, Oh My!

We had to pick out our bathtub for the master yesterday.  It's gonna be the same as Angela's.  Which I would assume is nice.  I don't really know personally... I've only been in her bathroom once and it was just to pee, not to take a bath.  :P

Scott and I are going with all "Venetian Bronze" hardware (doorknobs, faucets, showerheads, etc.)  It's fun.  But, of course, more expensive.  :/  Although, he already ordered a bunch of the doorknobs for the house off Ebay and got them for pretty cheap!  So, hopefully, we can continue to find the stuff we like online for much cheaper than it is in the local stores.  I know, it's good to support local business, but it's also good to support having a fatter wallet.  So, we go with the cheap.  :)

The elevation guy came to chart/map/whatever elevation guys do the location of our house.  And Rodney has met with the plumber and should hear back from him on Monday.  I *think* once that's done, then things are off to get the building permit.  And then?  I dunno what's after that.

Cohen hasn't been sleeping well the last few nights.  He wakes up and starts to crawl and then sits up and then cries because he wants to be sleeping but his little body won't let him.  I think the poor sleep has definitely been affecting my patience.  This too shall pass. This too shall pass.  This too shall pass.  And then I'll miss it.

Diaper changes have been torturous lately.  Well, pee diapers aren't too bad, just lots of squirming and twisting and escaping the diaper.  But poopy ones... the kind where I have to hold his feet to keep them from spreading the poop over every square inch of his body and the changing area?  My goodness you'd think I was torturing him.  I sing, make silly sounds and faces, and still... I'm the mean ol' momma who wants baby to have a clean butt.  :P   Once he can run, we might have the dog do diaper changes from then on.  Haha!

Ah well... I've been dawdling on here long enough... time to go get some work done.

My jaw hurts

From clinching my teeth. :/

Sometimes not saying what you would like to is for the best though apparently.

I'm in a sour mood. Can you tell?

Lens Baby and Other Fun Times!

Photos

Okay, I'm going to start documenting my life through photos.  Anything can be made interesting exciting in a photo, even MY life.  Haha!  Project starts today.  :)

Step one - find camera and charge battery.

CRAWLING!

It's official... We have a mobile baby!! So exciting and scary! And, I feel a tooth! AND, he didn't nurse at all through the night last night. This is too much! I don't want him to give up night nursing yet. (I know, I'm weird, but I have my reasons.)

Anyway, we got the house plans back and had to check out and add/move the light switches and outlets. Now back to the draftsman and then I don't know what. We sure do have a bunch of dirt back there though!! :)

Well that's all for now. More later!

Santa Hat

I'm not done, but there it is! I love it! Hopefully this weekend I can take some photos and put them on shutterfly so we can send out Christmas cards.

It also got me to thinking... How cool would it be to set up a photo booth of sorts on Christmas day so everyone could take family photos and such?! I'm gonna do it. It's gonna be grand. =)

Sickos

We are all suffering with stuffy noses. And poor sleep. And my lungs are killing me. Asthma sucks. I sure do hope that nursing Cohen keeps the asthma out of his system. He just has a very slightly runny/stuffy nose right now and is miserable. :(

On to brighter topics...

Southdown was a lot of fun. I went with MIL and the kiddos and we had a good time. Victoria rode a pony and both she and Logan got to pet some animals. Victoria got a sword and shield and Logan got a wooden fire truck. Cohen also got some wooden cars. And it was very exciting because there was nothing there like what I'm making!! So I think that my stuff would do very well!! Gotta get to crafting!! I'm also considering knitting stuff too, but not your typical stuff. Maybe some critters. Who knows.

As miserable as all the work on the drainage in our yard is right now, there's a plus to it... The dirt they took out will probably be used for our house!! This picture is only the first pile. It's much bigger now.

Well, my boys are both sleeping as of the moment, so I better try and get some rest in while I can. G'night!!

Projects, projects, projects!

I made two covers today. One is a bit small... I must have cut the minky fabric before making my template. Oh well. From now on that won't be an issue. It's still cute. Here's a pre-sewing photo.

I also started knitting again. I'm making Cohen a Santa hat. :) I was going to make some leg warmers for a friend's little girl, but they weren't coming out right. Maybe I'll try again.

Tomorrow is Southdown!! And... Scott gets back tonight. =)

Cohen has been waving up a storm. He waves every time we leave the house. He waves to the cats, the fish, the trees, EVERYTHING!! It's so stinkin' cute!!

Ah well, it's late and I should try to get some sleep. G'night!

Just some Babbling.

Scott's not here so I have no one to babble to.

The pets are driving me crazy today.  (Surprise Surprise...)  Penny won't eat.  Rowen has to be under my feet 24/7.  Lilly has been laying on the recliner getting her nasty fur all over it.  The kitties were sleeping IN Cohen's high chair.  Ugh.

Cohen is nearly crawling.  He does this little froggy lunge thing that is too cute.  (the word lunge looks weird to me typed out...) He can get to a sitting position from a crawling position now.  And he's wearing 18 month clothing.  My gosh he's growing up so fast!

Southdown Marketplace is this weekend.  I'm quite excited about going!  I hope it really sparks the motivation fuse in me to make some more stuff for the one in the spring.  I've only made 5 boppy pillow covers.  Not nearly enough to have a booth.  I need to get busy for sure!

Christmas is getting closer and closer!  I can't wait!  It'll be so much fun to watch Cohen try to rip open presents.  One of his current favorite activities is ripping up paper, so I'm sure he'll really enjoy opening them, even if he can't do it all by himself.

We got the preliminary house plans back from the draftsman.  We just have to look over them and finalize everything and then... Well, I don't know what comes next.  But I'm excited!

Okay, I suppose that's all for now.  Have a lovely day!
