More Nonsense

Well, Cohen has just about mastered sitting up unsupported.  He'll probably have it down in another week or two.  That's exciting and scary.  Scary because we need to babyproof!!!

On another random note, there are only 4 chickens left.  This should be good news to me right?  Well, the rest have been eaten by coyotes.  So, that means the coyotes and coy dogs have gotten brave enough to come that close to the house during daylight hours.  :/

Today's weather makes me really look forward to the fall!  Although, I am definitely allergic to something in the air with all this sneezing and stuffiness.  Hopefully all this nurse nurse nursing will help Cohen not suffer quite as much from this sort of thing.  I hope to maybe get outside this afternoon and play on my back patio area.  It's been terribly neglected as of late and needs some major sprucing up.  I won't be able to do anything about all the dead plants, but at least I can straighten up all the pots and doo dads lying around.  That'll make me feel good I'm sure.

I've been sewing more again lately.  I'm not all that great at it, but I do enjoy it.  I need to post some pictures and such.

So this afternoon's to do list consists of cleaning the litter boxes, cleaning up outside, a load of laundry, loading the dishwasher, and possibly starting on my next sewing project.  Honestly, though, I'll be happy to get one of these things done. Haha!  Hopefully Cohen wakes up in a good mood from this nap so I can get a bit done before he wants to go to sleep again.  We shall see.

Three Ring Circus

Oh boy.  I'm sorry it seems I don't have much positive to say.  I use this more as my journal than anything else.  I'm really not so negative, I just tend to write here about that stuff.

We may have to get rid of the kitties.  And I'm very upset over that thought.  Two days ago Lily peed on the counter.  Well really, I wasn't 100% sure it was her, though the dogs can't get up there and it looked like way more than anything the kitties could have done.  Yesterday, I left the house for just a minute and upon my return, Lily scrambled to get off the counter as I walked in.  And there was pee all over the stove and behind it.  Disgusting.  And she's been pooping on the floor and not in her litterbox.  The only thing I can see is it's the kitties.  It's weird to me that it's happening now because we've had them for over a month now.  At first I thought maybe Lily was starting with arthritis or something and it was too hard for her to get in/out of her box, but not if her toilet of choice is now the counter!  If she does it again, I'm going to lock the kitties in the bathroom to see if she'd do it even if they were gone.  I don't know what we will do if she continues to do it.  The floor is one thing, but the counter?!  the stove?!  So gross.

And, on top of that, the urine leaked behind and under our stove so I couldn't clean it all.  So I asked Scott to help.  So last night he flipped that breaker, and locked the oven so I could pull it out to clean it.  He pulled it out, but then pushed it back in as there is ant poison back there and didn't want the pets to get in that.  I just wish he could have thought to maybe clean it himself since he went that far anyway.  It's hard to get myself into chemicals and things when I may need to tend to the babe in a hurry.  Oh well.  I also wish he'd take the trash out too.  I even go as far as to put the full trash bag in the garage and he just steps over it in the mornings.  I know he isn't doing this on purpose to annoy me, and I hate to nag, but it's hard to hold a babe and a nasty, heavy trash bag and then lift the big garbage can lid.  *sigh*

I also think my sewing machine is broken/breaking.  I tried to sew a bit this morning and it keeps jamming and doing weird things.  This happened before, and it just needed to be oiled, but I tried that this morning and it didn't help.  I didn't have much time to tinker with it so maybe later I can see if I can't figure out the problem.  I'll be so sad if it really is broken though.  :(

Okay, sorry again that all I ever post about is negative.  I'll try to start posting the good too.  :)

Today

Well, today started off pretty badly.  Cohen didn't have a great night (or, rather, I should say I didn't have a great night providing him with one.)  And he woke up early.  And I discovered what I can only assume was cat pee ON THE COUNTER!  I think Lily is protesting the kittens.  And how did I discover the pee, you ask?  With my hand.  It was *lovely*.

And then Cohen screamed at me for a while.  I think he's really starting to teethe, poor thing.

But, alas, I worked up the courage to go to a LLL meeting and I really enjoyed it!  I liked the Mamas that I met, so I'll definitely be returning.  And, they have a Mama's group!  So I may very well have to join!  So at least that part of my day was good.

That's all for now. Have a good evening!

Just Venting... it's been a while.

The dang dogs drove me crazy last night.  I've gotten to the point where I just tolerate them and provide for their needs.  I don't like them.  I don't like that I feel that way, but whenever I try to do something to have fun with them,  it always ends on a sour note.  Ughh.  Maybe someday I'll come to like them again.

I didn't get enough sleep last night between them and the weather and the wriggly babe.  So now I'm tired.  My eyes burn.

Lily pooped on the floor and her box isn't even dirty.

I hope that I'm actually brave enough to go to the Le Leche meeting tomorrow.  And that I can make a friend or two.

I want to get more in to sewing again.  But Cohen needs me too much right now.  Heck, I'd like to take a shower without having to multitask by trying to keep a 5 month old content at the same time.  I think he's already started with separation anxiety.  Oh boy.  And he's definitely teething.  And on the brink of sitting up all by himself.  So, lots going on.

There's more, but I'm falling asleep typing so I'm going to try to nap.

Random Bits

Okay, so at Cohen's four month visit he weight 15 lbs 13 oz and was 27 inches long!  He did wonderfully with his shot.  My experience, however, was terrible.  I'm on the lookout for a new pedi in the Houma/Thibodaux region.  Any suggestions?

I am now officially down to 170-172 (depends on time of day and such)!  ::party::  Considering I was up to 223 right before I had Cohen, I'm pretty excited!  That's 20 pounds less than when I got pregnant in the first place!

I wanna try going 'poo free.  No, not as in not going to the bathroom anymore.  As in no shampoo.  I know, sounds crazy, right?  Well, I've looked up and saw how absolutely terrible my shampoo/hair products are because of all the chemicals, and now it's hard for me to feel okay continuing to use it now that I know how bad they are.  It's kinda like smoking I suppose.  (Knowingly doing harm to yourself.)  So, as of tomorrow I'm gonna give it a go.  It's not like my hair will just be dirty, there's still ways to clean/condition, just not with shampoo/conditioner.  And, it's supposed to make my hair look and feel wonderful once it transitions from trying to compensate so much from shampoo/conditioner use.  I'll keep you updated on the results.

Well, I thought I had more, but now I've gone blank.  Maybe it'll come back to me later.
